Key Stage 3 ICT is all about learning how to use a computer properly. Once you can use a variety of programs, then you will start to learn how to solve problems using them.
You should learn basic skills in these programs:
You will be assessed on your skills and given a National Curriculum Grade, from levels 1-8. Level 1 means, not very good, Level 8 means better than me!
In Year 7 you should achieve a Level 3+
In Year 8 you should achieve a Level 4+
In Year 9 you should achieve Level 5 or above.
Primary Schools always over inflate ICT grades and these are inaccurate. So don’t be surprised if your initial high school assessments are low! Do not fear! You will learn stacks very quickly and get really skilled.
